Monthly Medal
In 2008 SGC will again hold one event per month as a “MONTHLY MEDAL EVENT”. LINCOLN ELECTRIC have once again shown their generosity & have donated monthly trophies. In each event, participants will gain points towards a league table & at the end of our season the player with most league points will be declared the “SGC MONTHLY MEDAL CHAMPION 2008”.
SET UP
- DIVISION 1 = HCPS INDEX 0 to 18
- DIVISION 2 = HCPS INDEX 19 & above
- Ladies will join Division 1 or 2 depending on hcp index & will be allowed to play from ladies tees.
Allocation of points in each Division
- 1st place =24 points
- 2nd place= 20 points
- 3rd place = 17 points
- 4th place = 14 points
- 5th place = 11 points
- 6th place = 9 points
- 7th place = 7 points
- 8th place = 5 points
- 9th place = 4 points
- 10th place = 3 points
- All other players will earn 1 point for participating.
There will be 1 league table & this will be based on performance in each division. Players will change between divisions if handicap fluctuate warranting this change.
FORMAT
Events will either be “NET STROKE PLAY”or “STABLEFORD NET” as advised by the Committee. As usual Rules of Golf apply in all SGC competitions
ELIGIBILITY
The monthly medal events are open to all SGC members who have obtained an SGC handicap by submitting no fewer than 5 VERIFIED SCORECARDS.
EVENTS
The monthly medal events will run from March until October. The first event to be classed as MONTHLY MEDAL will be Chairmans Cup on 24th March. In November we hold a “medal of medals” competition. The participants will be the winners of each division for each month. Maximum 16 players fighting it out for the title of SUPREME MONTHLY MEDAL CHAMPION.
PRIZE GIVING
After the November event, we will hold a prize giving evening giving prizes to League Table winners, 2nd 3rd, 4th etc. & the SUPREME MONTHLY MEDAL CHAMPION.
