CHAIRMAN HAS A REAL JOB!

It has been quite a while since I have had time to sit down & write a little note about what has been happening with SGC, in fact I noticed that the last report dates back all the way to May 10th. With the aid of our wonderful tournament manager software, I may just be able to recall what has happened. Apologies for the delay, work has taken on a new meaning during the past few months.

The 24th of May took us to beautiful Zhonggang for the May monthly medal. Some of the regular SGC faces were unfortunately M.I.A., I guess Zhonggang is not everyones favourite. We hear some grumble and others love it. Scores were pretty good on the day with Mark Jones taking division 1 first place with a sparkling 71 (42 points). Peter Grant came in top of Division 2 also with 42 points, not quite 71 gross here though. Thanks again to Lincoln Electric for providing the trophies for each monthly medal throughout all of 2008. The results of all SGC competitions can be viewed on line by simply clicking "tee times / results" on our front page of the SGC web site.

The new Shanghai Golfers Club website is well & truly up & running & the SGC Committee really appreciates the way the majority of members have already become accustomed to the on line booking. You would'nt know this until you are involved in the weekly organising but the on line booking system has cut down a huge amount of admin work. Some members have been using the members mailing list with good success also and I see that you all have been notified of the BIG BEAR NIGHT MONTHLY GOLF now.Excellent! Countless hours went into the designing of the new site and for a non profit club, its one that we can be proud of. Please take time out to go deep into the Photos section. Click on the yellow font within the photos section and explore.

31st of May we had a large turnout at Tianma for our regular Saturday event a big turnout on this day.
