March 2008
The SGC season is well under way now that spring has sprung & the greens are getting greener.
It looks like we will be in for a bumper year in 2008, with "booking numbers" reaching new heights, please remember to book early to avoid disappointment. Book by Wednesday midday , giving your committee time to juggle numbers & beg for additional tee times.
Which brings me to my first big thank you..
Thanks to Tianma Country Club, In particular Ian Watkins & Elina who have handled SGC swaps & changes superbly already this year. We owe them big time.
Secondly, I'd like let you all know the status of memberships for 2008 at the time of writing this. We have only 13 of last year's members who have not responded to the reminder email requesting payment of dues for 2008. Collecting the dues, recording the data and issuing the clothing is no small task I can assure you. My personal thanks to Francine for managing this.
I think all members will agree that our partnership with Big Bamboo as our sponsor home bar, has been a great success & long may it continue. Thanks to Bryce, JC & all the crew at the BB.
During the Chairman's Cup, we introduced Amyboo. Amyboo will be employed by SGC on every weekend event. The intention is to train her to ultimately be able to handle input of scorecards, to work out prize winners each week, this will take time of course. She will initially be responsible for
- Ensuring all Bus riders are on the bus.
- Ensuring bus driver knows the route.
- Liase with Golf Club enroute to have staff ready for bus arrival.
- Assist with check in.
- Advise committee members if no shows, to enable swift re-organizing of groups.
- Arrange area for SGC gathering after the game & guide players to the area.
- Collect scorecards.
- Assist with check out issues.
- Cups & Corkscrew for the bus (very important).
Please give Amyboo your support and help with her training.
Tim Yeo & Trios continue to supply us with a bottomless cup of fine wines. Tim you are awesome.
Now to the latest big events.
